Voting Period Begins For ALFA Senior Living Art Showcase

ALEXANDRIA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) is pleased to announce that voting is now open for the 2013 ALFA Senior Living Art Showcase, an art competition honoring the talents of senior living residents. Senior living residents, relatives, employees of senior living communities, and members of the general public are invited to help select the winners in this virtual art competition by voting on ALFA’s Facebook page through March 25, 2013.

More than 600 residents of assisted living, independent living, and memory care communities across the country submitted artwork exhibiting the theme Celebrating the Beauty of Life for inclusion in this year’s showcase. Residents of dozens of senior living communities operated by 47 companies submitted artwork for the competition. The companies are:

Submissions that best embody the theme have been uploaded to ALFA’s Facebook page, where individuals can “like” their favorite pieces. The three images with the highest number of likes on March 25, 2013 as well as three submissions chosen by ALFA based on adherence to theme will win the competition. Winners will receive a painting party featuring premium art supplies from Sargent Art, an official art showcase t-shirt featuring the winning artwork, and national recognition at the ALFA 2013 Conference & Expo.
