TINLEY PARK, Ill.--()--Traveling along Interstate 80, exiting at Harlem Avenue and making two quick turns is all that's required to get into the Tinley Park Convention Center. Drivers then have their choice of 1,500 free parking spaces.
“Our main fundraiser, a summer luncheon, has been at the Convention Center since they opened and we wouldn't leave. Now with their expansion, the facility is even better.”
"That's a big deal for a lot of women, who may not be comfortable navigating hectic city traffic, finding a parking garage, and walking a distance in unfamiliar territory. This suburban location, safe and easy to access, is very important to the success of our show," says Renee Anderson, President of Ultimate Events & Expos. Anderson's Women's Expo comes to the Convention Center April 6 & 7.
"It's a beautiful facility," says Anderson, whose company coordinates a variety of shows around the Midwest. "The interior is very nicely done, the carpeting is a valuable feature and it's always clean. Litter is always picked up immediately and the restrooms are spotless." Restrooms are located just outside the exhibit hall and that, Anderson remarks, is important too.
Sue Gowen, President and one of the Founders of The Abby Foundation, knows firsthand of the quality of the Center. "Our main fundraiser, a summer luncheon, has been at the Convention Center since they opened and we wouldn't leave. Now with their expansion, the facility is even better."
Gowen has welcomed up to 800 women at her luncheon and they've been treated like queens at the Center. "Whatever we need, the staff is there to help us. They are so easy to work with. We like our vendors right there in the dining room with us and the staff makes that happen beautifully every year." Last year, the Foundation raffled a full-size automobile and, because of the Center's oversized doors, was able to include the vehicle in the dining room. "Because it's all on one floor, it's very easy for our vendors to access, load in and move out. There is plenty of room and there's never been a complaint."
Anderson agrees, saying, "The Center accommodates our hourly cooking demonstrations, our display automobiles, wine tastings and workshops. The staff is incredibly helpful."
"Our people return year after year," says Gowen. "At Tinley Park, there are just no drawbacks."
