BERWYN, Pa.--()--Jonathan Treitel and Michael Stephen Tung have been named global equity analysts at Turner Investments, an employee-owned investment firm based in Berwyn, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Treitel began work at Turner on February 25; Mr. Tung, on March 4.
In their positions, Mr. Treitel and Mr. Tung conduct fundamental analysis of companies in all capitalization ranges to generate investment ideas for the firm’s growth, global/international, and long/short separately managed accounts and mutual funds. Founded in 1990, Turner invests in stocks for both institutions and individuals and has more than $10 billion in assets under management, as of December 31, 2012.
Mr. Treitel, 30, covers companies in the producer-durables sector for the firm’s Cyclical Team, one of five analyst teams that oversee the stock-market sectors. He reports to Joshua B. Kohn, portfolio manager/global equity analyst, and Donald W. Smith, portfolio manager/global equity analyst.
Mr. Tung, 37, is a member of the firm’s Health-Care Team and follows companies in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. He reports to Frank L. Sustersic, senior portfolio manager/global equity analyst.
Mr. Treitel joins Turner from Encompass Capital Advisors, where he served as an energy analyst. He has eight years of investment experience.
Mr. Treitel earned bachelor of arts degrees in economics and English from Columbia University in 2005 and is a Level II CFA Candidate. He is relocating to the Philadelphia area from Jackson Heights, New York.
Mr. Tung joins Turner from Expo Capital Management, where he served as a senior analyst. He has 10 years of experience in investment management.
Mr. Tung earned a dual medical doctorate and master’s degree in business administration from Tufts University in 2001 and received a bachelor of science degree in biology and a bachelor of arts degree in economics from George Washington University in 1997. He is moving to the Philadelphia area from Los Angeles.
