CULVER CITY, Calif.--()--In celebration of the February 12, 2013 Blu-ray™ Combo Pack and DVD release of BULLY, over 300 balloons were released today into the sky by hundreds of Culver City High School students to signify freeing the evils of bullying. The high school also screened the film today to over 2,000 students.
Special guest host, Shauna Case, one of the stars of Cartoon Network’s “Incredible Crew” and part of Cartoon Network’s own bullying prevention campaign, ‘Stop Bullying Speak Up!,’ led the countdown to the balloon release. Culver City High School student Jacky Jung also spoke about her past of being a bully and how she has now changed.
BULLY is the critically-acclaimed documentary film that sparked a national movement that rallied people to stand up to bullying, hate, and intolerance. Directed by Lee Hirsch, BULLY follows the lives of five students whose stories each represent a different facet of America's bullying crisis, and the families that fight for them. A call to action, the film not only captured the attention of the country, but fostered a national dialogue about bullying, uniting parents, teachers, and students in the fight against the violence that has gone unchecked for too long in our schools.
This event is in support of the Blu-ray combo pack / DVD release of the film BULLY and a special edition of AC360° entitled “The Bully Effect,” which will debut this evening on CNN.
