Teen Cast Members Selected by Secret Room Events for 85^th Annual Academy Awards Internship

COSTA MESA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--This week, Fashionomics LIVE cast members will get a once in a lifetime opportunity as they participate in the popular Red Carpet Gift Lounge and Retreat Internship honoring the 85^th annual Academy Awards.

Fashionomics LIVE is a career exploring program where High School students gain real-life experiences behind the scenes at businesses and explore potential careers, fields or industries. The brainchild of OC-based native and business woman Sherri Scheck-Merrill, Fashionomics LIVE’s unique extra-curricular program is creating buzz at High Schools and Universities all over Orange County.

Scheck-Merrill proudly claims “The process at LIVE opens the mindset of High School Students so they can actually enjoy the process of career investigating which typically tends to be a very intimidating thought process for 9^th thru 12^th graders.

“It narrows the giant leap from High School to College so when the student is faced with declaring a major, they possess an understanding of what a lifestyle within a given industry, or profession, might resemble.”

Selected by Secret Room Events, Scheck-Merrill and her staff of OC volunteers and a bevy of College Students who participate in the Fashionomics LIVE Design Internship program, will be performing duties and tasks ranging from designing and propping a style lounge, greeting the arriving talent and entertainment industry VIPs, ushering and celebrity gift bag wrangling, interviewing celebrities and performing trendy beauty tasks such as nail embezzling, hair chalking, faux tattoos, and designing and operating a Wolfgang Puck Coffee Bar which includes baking- for-the-stars!

The High School students are led by College Interns from Chapman, UCI and Whittier Law School who will be capturing the special experience to sharpen their confidence and skills as they explore potential majors and professions, complete college applications or head out on that first job interview!

When not in Award Ceremony Internship mode, the Fashionomics LIVE program provides off-campus field experiences at businesses who have graciously offered to host an on-site Tour Stop. The Tour Stop model is a sculptured formula that includes a mentoring session in the place of business board room, one-on-one discussions with Presidents, Founders and upper level Management about their climb to their roles within the organization today and a facility tour which often includes confidentiality disclosures as students are ushered into design, marketing and product development Departments.

The fields and businesses explored are not specific to Fashion. The Fashionomics LIVE program covers a multitude of roles within Retail, Wholesale, Product Development, Marketing, Public Relations, Media, Event Planning, Design and Merchandising which are fields that operate throughout the business world.
