Momentive to Unveil Innovative Technologies at JEC Show in Paris

COLUMBUS, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--A broader range of composite products for automotive Class-A production, high volume composite part production with low two-minute cycle times and products that deliver measurable efficiencies are all being showcased at the JEC show, March 12-14, in Paris by Momentive Specialty Chemicals Inc. (“Momentive Specialty Chemicals” or the “Company”). Located at Hall 1, booth G45, Momentive Specialty Chemicals scientists and representatives will be available to discuss their latest technologies for the composite market.

Creating composite parts in two-minutes is no barrier for Momentive’s new EPIKOTE™ Binder 05475 and EPIKURE™ 05500 fast-cure epoxy systems. Developed for resin transfer molding (RTM) and liquid compression molding (LCM) these products enables mass production of automotive composite parts.

Momentive Specialty Chemicals is introducing the next generation of epoxy resin transfer molding (RTM) systems through its EPIKOTE™ binder 04695-1 and EPIKURE™ 05490A curing agent. These new products deliver a minimum level of cure shrinkage, which provides a smooth Class A finish.

Automobile manufacturers can now mass produce composite parts thanks to a new binder system introduced by Momentive Specialty Chemicals. The EPIKOTE™ Binder System 620 enables mass production of automotive composite in hot-melt preforming processes. EPIKOTE Binder System 620 is a one-component, cross-linkable powder binder that can be conveniently applied to carbon or glass fibers and fabrics as a powder using a hot-melt coating process line.
