ORANGE, Calif.--()--Ron Goldstein, president and chief executive officer of CHOICE Administrators, will discuss the future of private and public health insurance exchanges at the Orange County Association of Health Underwriters’ (OCAHU) Business Development Summit on February 19. The event will be held at the Hilton Costa Mesa.
Goldstein is one of the nation’s most sought-after thought leaders on the creation and acceptance of health insurance exchanges. In his presentation before OCAHU, Goldstein will summarize the key changes unfolding in the marketplace triggered by the federal mandate that all states establish and launch a health insurance exchange by January 1, 2014, or default to a federal fallback program. Goldstein will discuss the implications of exchanges as it pertains to employers and individuals as well as how brokers can grow their business and position themselves as the “go-to person” in this new era.
Central to Goldstein’s presentation will be outlining the similarities and differences between public and private exchanges including the use of licensed agents, the administration of value-ads (COBRA, PPO, Flex, etc.), the offering of employer tax credits, the offering of field sales and enrollment support, etc. His remarks will be grounded on a three-decade career on the frontlines, including currently serving as CEO of the nation’s most successful and mature private health insurance exchange – CaliforniaChoice.
