Hosted by B.J. Novak of The Office, winners of the 2013 PYMNTS Innovator Awards, heralded as the most prestigious awards for innovation in the payments industry, will be revealed on March 21st

BOSTON--()--If the surge of submissions is any indicator of the buzz surrounding the upcoming 2013 PYMNTS.com Innovator Awards, then this year’s awards are set to be historic. With over 500 submissions, up nearly five times the amount received last year, PYMNTS.com has received an overwhelming number of nominations from an eclectic mix of established industry players and up-and-coming innovators.

Viewed as the most prestigious recognition awards in the payments industry, the PYMNTS Innovation Awards has seen an exponential increase in participants and sponsors, and boasts a submission, selection and voting processes that is unmatched in intellectual rigor and competitive energy.

"The PYMNTS.com Innovation Awards is the premier event in the payments world, bringing together the fastest rising stars and highlighting the most revolutionary companies in the space,” said Matthew Witheiler, Principal, Flybridge Capital Partners. “Across the 15 diverse categories featured in this year's awards, the winners are sure to include the hottest players in payments.”

Judges will begin to narrow the field of submissions to three to five finalists for each category, with final voting for the awards to be determined by the PYMNTS.com community on Feb 20. The peer-based review process is unlike any other, providing a unique opportunity for businesses to receive a level of feedback, exposure and insight that can lead to ground breaking innovations for their business.

“We learned that judges devoted significant time to review nominations and several subsequently offered to provide invaluable 1:1 in-person meetings and assistance to help us get noticed,” said Elliot Klein, Founder, XYverify.

The excitement is palpable as the industry waits to determine the big winners for this year’s awards, taking place on March 21, 2013. The “Golden Globes” style awards dinner and program will include a special award from the NACHA and the induction of five major industry players into the newly established Payments Hall of Fame, all emceed by B.J. Novak of The Office.
