A.M. Best Requests Comments on Draft Criteria: BCAR for Title Insurance Companies

OLDWICK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--A.M. Best Co. is requesting comments from market participants in the insurance industry and other interested parties on the draft criteria report, “BCAR for Title Insurance Companies” (updates version dated March 2, 2012).

The draft criteria report contains updated text, which specifies that premium and reserve capital factors will be adjusted based on premium volume and size of reserve liability, respectively. In addition, the number of years used to calculate the industry baseline reserve and premium capital factors has been increased to seven and 10 years, respectively.

These updates are part of A.M. Best’s continual review of its Best’s Credit Rating Methodology and are not considered material or expected to affect ratings.
