BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Localytics, the leading provider of app marketing and analytics solutions, today announced results for 2012. The company achieved a stellar year of growth tripling its annual revenue. The fourth quarter 2012 marked the 12th consecutive quarter of record-setting revenue. In 2012, the company expanded its app marketing and analytics suite to provide analytics insight and drive marketing campaigns for more than 500 million unique smartphones and tablet devices across iOS, Android, Windows 8, Windows Phone, HTML5 and Blackberry.
Throughout the year, Localytics expanded its product portfolio with the launch of the Localytics app marketing platform, secured $5.5M in funding, relocated to its new expanded corporate headquarters and made key strategic hires.

Localytics’ growth was fueled by its
increased adoption of its solutions across multiple verticals, including
media, entertainment, technology, retail and travel. In September 2012,
the Company secured
$5.5 million in Series B funding led by Boston, Mass.-based Polaris
Venture Partners with all existing investors including New York Angels,
Launchpad Venture Group, Hub Angels and Progress Ventures participating.
The investment will accelerate Localytics product innovation in app
marketing and analytics. Since the funding, Localytics has moved into
its new corporate headquarters in downtown Boston and has continued to
hire at a rapid pace, tripling its staff from the end of 2011 to
supports its product and customer facing initiatives.
Key Hire
In December, Localytics added seasoned marketing
executive Bernd Leger to its leadership team. Leger brings more than 15
years of leadership experience and an accomplished track record in
rapidly scaling and positioning early-stage organizations for success.
As VP of Marketing, Leger will be instrumental in increasing Localytics’
presence in the market and helping to further accelerate the company’s
sales success and leadership position. Most recently, Leger was vice
president of marketing at Rapid7, one of the fastest-growing IT security
companies in the world. Leger built the marketing organization and
implemented an inbound-freemium-driven strategy that helped propel the
company to 900 % revenue growth during his tenure. Leger was also
instrumental in Rapid7’s recognition as a market leader by Gartner and
Forrester Research. Prior to Rapid7, Bernd held numerous marketing
leadership roles at Veracode, Oblicore and Navisite.
Product Innovation
Support for App Analytics on Windows 8
Phones, Tablets & Desktops
In August, Localytics added
support for Windows 8 apps to its app analytics service. Localytics was
the first app analytics provider to provide a Windows 8 JavaScript
library, allowing app publishers to gain detailed real-time and
actionable insight into the behavior of the end-users on Windows 8
phones, tablets and desktops. Since the launch, more than 60 million
licenses of Windows 8 have been sold.
Localytics App Marketing Platform
In September Localytics
launched the app marketing platform, allowing customers to tightly
integrate customer acquisition and nurture strategies with Localytics’
existing enterprise app analytics service as part of one closed-loop
platform. The app marketing platform drives customer engagement and
conversions by delivering rich, actionable messages to users within the
app experience. By completely integrating app analytics and marketing,
app publishers can deliver highly targeted messages to users in
real-time based on their app usage. App analytics are then used to
optimize and measure the performance of each message against the
engagement, monetization and customer lifetime value goals set by the

Facebook Mobile Measurement Partnership
In November,
Localytics announced that it has been named a Facebook Mobile
Measurement Partner. Through this partnership Localytics customers can
use Localytics for attribution and measurement of Facebook mobile app
install ads, and their impact on customer acquisition, engagement and
lifetime value. Facebook is the first mobile advertising platform
supported by Localytics app marketing platform. As new app installs
occur, Localytics analyzes and measures the ongoing contribution of
