INVISTA Debuts Three Key Themes for Denim Spring/Summer 2014 at Kingpins

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--INVISTA will introduce its global denim concept collection for Spring/Summer 2014 at the Kingpins Shows in New York January 15-16 and in Los Angeles January 22-23. With looks ranging from ethereal to vivid, and authentic to techno, the collection encompasses innovative garments highlighting INVISTA’s key technologies for denim, including LYCRA® dualFX™ fabric, COOLMAX® fiber, TOUGH MAX™ LYCRA® fabric, and new XFIT LYCRA® fabrics. Garments feature fabrics from INVISTA’s key mill customers and are arranged under three key themes:

Fantasy -- This theme encompasses imaginative fabrics, denim that is somehow transformed, and appears to be almost from another realm. Featured styles include those with pearlized coatings, reflective surfaces, colored weft yarns, prints and tie dye effects. Many of the fabrics in this collection feature LYCRA® dualFX™ fabric technology which combines LYCRA® fiber and LYCRA® T400® fiber in a single yarn, resulting in super stretch denims that keep their shape. “Early reaction to this collection has been extremely positive because the fabrics are both visually exciting and they have excellent performance, especially in terms of fabric recovery,” says Jean Hegedus, INVISTA’s global segment leader for denim.

Reality -- This category features fabrics of two extremes: simple denim structures in timeless styles with authentic aesthetics, versus high tech fabrics in neon colors, reflecting the vivid side of reality. Featured looks include vintage inspired TOUGH MAX™ LYCRA® fabrics as well as heavily bleached denims using corespun LYCRA® T400® fiber, and bright neons with LYCRA® dualFX™ fabric technology. The juxtaposition of these two extremes – authentic and techno – make for an interesting contrast in aesthetics.

Harmony -- The final collection represents a fusion of various tendencies – performance denim moving into ready-to-wear, traditional ready-to-wear fabrics such as denim moving into sports. We see natural and synthetic fibers teaming up to provide enhanced performance, as well as knit denims that look like wovens and woven denims that look like knits. Two key innovations in the Harmony collection are COOLMAX® fabric and TOUGH MAX™ LYCRA® fabric.
