OMA DRM is a widely deployed DRM scheme, used by hundreds of mobile operators in the United States, Europe, Asia and Latin America for securing video, music and ringtone services. To support the OMA DRM v1.0 scheme, Android requires adaptations to all multimedia applications.

The pre-packaged Symphony Teleca-Discretix offering is the most complete and field-proven solution in the marketplace, meeting the operator's requirements for OMA DRM v1.0; ensuring reduced time-to-market; and providing support for future versions of Android.
