HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TerraSpark Geosciences is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel J. Piette to the position of Executive Chairman. A well-respected and recognized energy executive, Dan will provide strategic leadership for TerraSpark and will join Dr. Geoffrey Dorn, CEO, who will continue to provide technical leadership and Bob Stevenson, COO, who will continue to oversee day-to-day operations for this growing seismic interpretation company.

Most recently, Dan served as President and CEO of Object Reservoir, Inc. until the recent acquisition of its software division by Halliburton Inc. and its services division by Weatherford Inc. Prior to that, he was President and CEO of OpenSpirit Corporation for seven years. Under his leadership OpenSpirit grew significantly as a provider of integration solutions for upstream applications and data, culminating in its acquisition by TIBCO Software Inc. (NASDAQ: TIBX). Dan presently serves on the board of Petroleum Geo-Services ASA.
