Cadmus Exceeds Goal for Donations for 2012 Book Buy

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Cadmus Group, Inc. today announced it exceeded its fundraising goal for the 2012 Cadmus Book Buy program. Cadmus will purchase 530 books for children served by the Hand In Hand and outpatient services programs at Morrison Child and Family Services (Morrison Center) in Portland, Oregon. The Hand in Hand Program serves children who have been severely abused or neglected, and offers both inpatient and outpatient services and provides individualized treatment.

Cadmus will provide these children with award-winning books from The Nature Generation’s Green Earth Book Award program—the nation’s first environmental stewardship book award for children and young adults. The Nature Generation (NatGen) is an environmental nonprofit that inspires and empowers youth to make a difference through innovative environmental stewardship programs in literature, science, and the arts.

Cadmus raised the funds through donations by Cadmus employees, families and friends; a matching contribution by the company; and contributions from staff at Research Into Action, a program evaluation and market research firm serving the fields of energy efficiency, renewable energy, and natural resource management. The Book Buy occurred during the month of November as part of Cadmus’ commitment to sharing the message of environmental stewardship through reading.

For several years, Cadmus has donated staff time and resources to both The Nature Generation – formerly the Newton Marasco Foundation – and the Morrison Center. Many Cadmus employees have also volunteered their time to support these two organizations.
