KS Property Tax Payment Deadline Approaching

TOPEKA, Kan.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--December 20th is the deadline for Kansans to pay their property tax payments. Those who prefer to avoid a trip to the post office can conveniently pay their property tax debts online by using the Kansas Online Property Tax Payments service. Developed in partnership between the Kansas County Treasurers Association and Kansas.gov, the Kansas Online Property Tax Payments service was created to give taxpayers the opportunity to make their payments online.

Currently, 76 Kansas counties participate in the online service. For privacy purposes, access to your tax account requires a current tax statement issued by your County Treasurer’s office. Additionally, the following must be true:

  • Accounts cannot have a prior year tax delinquency
  • Accounts must not be in dispute or protest
  • Funds must be drawn on a U.S. bank account

Payments may be made through December 20th for first-half tax payments. Second-half tax payments may be made through the system beginning in May 2013. The Kansas Online Property Tax Payments application accepts payments made through e-check, as well as Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover credit card payments.
