ATLANTA--()--Local Atlanta BMW dealers: BMW of South Atlanta, Global Imports BMW, Nalley BMW of Decatur, United BMW of Gwinnett Place and United BMW of Roswell donated a 2013 BMW 640i Convertible to Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities (ARMHC) to be awarded as the grand prize of ARMHC’s annual car raffle.

The fundraiser was held from April to November and sold a record 1,915 tickets at $100 each. Frank Winn of Douglasville, GA drove away as the lucky grand prize winner of a 2013 BMW 640i Convertible. J.M. Owens of Marietta won four round trip tickets aboard Southwest Airlines as the second prize winner. Aaron Gwinner of Mableton, GA received a Sterling Silver 8-Row Chain Bracelet and a $500 David Yurman gift card courtesy of David Yurman at Lenox Square as the third prize winner.

This year marks the fifth consecutive year that the local area BMW dealers, supported by the Southern Region of BMW of North America, have donated a vehicle to ARMHC. The long-standing partnership between BMW and ARMHC has generated nearly $700,000 in net proceeds to benefit the Atlanta’s local Ronald McDonald Houses.

“Helping families devastated by the illness or injury of a child is important to the BMW family. We are proud to join ARMHC in supporting the health and well being of children in Atlanta,” says Wayne Schulte, Field Marketing Operations Manager for BMW of North America, Southern Region.

Since the annual car raffle began 14 years ago, more than $1.6 million in net proceeds has been raised to fund the operating costs of Atlanta’s two Ronald McDonald Houses.

ARMHC is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to serving the needs of children by providing temporary housing and support services to families of critically ill and injured children being treated at local children’s hospitals. The two Atlanta Houses have provided a home away from home to more than 42,000 families of ill and injured children since the first Atlanta House opened in 1979.

At the Ronald McDonald House, families can enjoy many of the comforts of home, receive nutritious meals prepared and served by volunteers and obtain emotional support through contact with other families experiencing similar situations. No family is turned away if they cannot afford the small $20 requested contribution and many of these families stay at the Ronald McDonald House for weeks, and sometimes months, while their children receive medical treatment.
