HumanaVitality® Announces Wellness Rewards Solution for Eligible Humana Medicare Members

Approximately 812,000 Humana Medicare beneficiaries in select markets will now have access to wellness and rewards solution

CHICAGO--()--Boomers and other eligible beneficiaries for Medicare have a new ally in their pursuit of good health and well-being. HumanaVitality, LLC, a joint venture between Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) and Discovery Holdings, Ltd, will begin offering its wellness and rewards solution to approximately 812,000 Humana Medicare Advantage, Humana Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug Plan and Humana Medicare Supplement members in select plans in select markets.

Wellness is top-of-mind for boomers and seniors alike. A recent study from the American Hospital Association reveals that without a stronger prevention effort, six of every 10 boomers will be managing more than one chronic condition by 2030. Specifically, diabetes is projected to affect one out of every four boomers and obesity is expected to affect one out of every three.

HumanaVitality®, which has more than 1.6 million members nationally, provides people with proven tools, resources and incentives designed to help them make healthier choices. Starting next month, Medicare beneficiaries in select markets who are enrolled in eligible Humana Medicare plans will be able to sign up for HumanaVitality.

As HumanaVitality members, these Medicare beneficiaries will receive Vitality PointsTM for activities, such as obtaining preventive screenings, exercising, donating blood, getting CPR-certified and quitting smoking. When members get preventive screenings or vaccinations they also earn Vitality Bucks®, which are redeemable for items such as gift cards or fitness apparel. Members also have access to HumanaVitality’s new Vitality Healthy Foods program, offering participants a five percent savings on healthy food items at Walmart.
