HOLYOKE, Mass.--()--ISO New England Inc., the operator of the region’s bulk power system and wholesale electricity markets, will host an informational media briefing on Wednesday, December 12, on the development and findings of the first multistate, long-term forecast of energy-efficiency reductions in the nation.
The New England states’ investment in energy-efficiency programs has resulted in reductions in electricity consumption, and projections show more electricity savings are expected over the next 10 years, according to the forecast completed earlier this year by ISO New England.
The briefing for reporters will provide an overview of how the ISO forecasts energy consumption and peak demand levels for each of the next 10 years, the role of energy-efficiency programs in the region, the development of a multistate energy-efficiency forecast model, and regional results of the forecast.
