24 Hour Fitness Celebrates Grand Opening of New UTC Super-Sport Club

SAN RAMON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--24 Hour Fitness is pleased to celebrate the grand opening of its new location at San Diego’s newly renovated Westfield UTC Mall. The much-anticipated 24 Hour Fitness^® UTC Super-Sport club located at 4425 La Jolla Village Dr. will replace the original 24 Hour Fitness Active club located nearby at 4405 La Jolla Village Drive – which closes its doors on Friday, Dec. 14 at 8 p.m. The new, larger club will open the following day, Saturday, Dec. 15 at 6 a.m.

The new 24 Hour Fitness location is part of the company’s investment of more than $20 million in the San Diego area – one of the fitness club chain’s most substantial market investments within the last five years.

To celebrate, 24 Hour Fitness invites the community to stop by on grand opening day for complimentary VIP club tours. Beginning at 6 a.m. and throughout the day, event attendees will also have the opportunity to sample several Group X^® classes, including Cycle, Les Mills BODYPUMP™, Yoga and Zumba^®.

Jad Attili, a 27-year veteran of 24 Hour Fitness, will serve as club manager and will oversee more than 250 team members at the new Super-Sport club. The facility will span approximately 45,000 square feet and will feature an additional 7,000 square feet of outdoor training space – more than triple the size of the original 15,000 square foot Active club. It will also feature an array of popular amenities and equipment that members and guests can enjoy, including:

In addition, the 24 Hour Fitness UTC Super-Sport club will be one of the first locations in the health club chain to offer Parisi Speed School youth athletic performance training programs. It will offer approximately 20 training classes each week - each designed to improve fundamental athletic skills, speed, quickness and self-esteem among children and teens ages seven to 17 and people of all ages. One-on-one training sessions with certified Parisi Speed School coaches will also be available.
