U.S. Bank Makes It Easier for Minnesotans to “Give to the Max”

Bank’s Partnership with GiveMN’s Online Donation Vendor Puts $183,000 More Dollars in the Hands of NonProfits

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As Minnesota nonprofits and schools gear up for GiveMN’s Give to the Max Day on November 15, would-be donors should know that more of their dollars will go to the nonprofit and school of their choice, thanks to a partnership with Minneapolis-based U.S. Bank.

“As a proud Minnesota-based company, we hope to help make this year’s campaign another success.”

In October 2010, U.S. Bank partnered with Razoo – the company that powers GiveMN’s robust online donation platform – to process all donations made through Razoo at a discount. The bank also waived select card processing fees.

The discounts allow more donation dollars to make their way to nonprofits and schools. In fact, since the start of U.S. Bank’s relationship with Razoo, nearly $183,000 has been saved -- money that has gone to the nonprofits Razoo supports, including GiveMN.

The cost savings is particularly important to GiveMN, which was created to transform philanthropy in Minnesota by growing overall giving and moving more of it online. Through its engaging web platform launched in November 2009, GiveMN helps nonprofit organizations and schools of all sizes reach new donors, increases giving through fun and engaging campaigns and significantly reduces overall fundraising costs.

“The impact of U.S. Bank’s partnership with Razoo is much greater than the cost savings,” said Dana Nelson, executive director of GiveMN. “GiveMN was launched to take online giving to scale in Minnesota. To do that, we needed to offer the lowest, most competitive processing fee. U.S. Bank’s partnership with Razoo has enabled us to do just that. Better still, we’re able to do that because of a partnership with a well-respected, Minnesota-based bank.”

Give to the Max Day is a day for Minnesotans to come together to raise millions of dollars for thousands of nonprofits and schools in 24 hours – starting at midnight on November 15 through midnight on November 16.

To further support GiveMN, U.S. Bank will use its various social media channels to promote Give to the Max Day on November 15.

“Minnesota is already known for its incredible generosity, and Give to the Max Day is a great chance to showcase that,” said Elliot Jaffee, U.S. Bank’s Twin Cities market president. “As a proud Minnesota-based company, we hope to help make this year’s campaign another success.”
