Routehappy Introduces Flight Happiness Scores and Selects Amadeus for Price Data

Routehappy Moves to the Next Phase of Beta with Happiness Scores to Help Flyers Find the Best Quality Flights Every Time They Fly

NEW YORK & MIAMI--()--Routehappy, the first site focused on the experience of air travel, announces today the selection of Amadeus, a leading technology partner for the global travel industry, as the provider of its airfare pricing and availability information. Routehappy will supplement its innovative Flight Happiness Scores with Amadeus price data to make it easier for flyers to find the best quality flights every time they fly – and provide a platform for the industry to promote its differentiators.

“Flyers – like all consumers – care about what they get for their money,” said Robert Albert, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Routehappy. “We’re adding price to Routehappy so flyers can easily incorporate the experience and value into their air travel purchase decisions for the first time. Routehappy makes it easy for flyers to find all flights on any route in the world ranked by Happiness Score, combining plane quality, amenities on that flight and recent ratings of the airline from real flyers. Amadeus is able to provide us with some of the most reliable pricing and availability data in the industry to ensure that Routehappy users will have all the information they need in one place to find the best quality flight for their budget, schedule and now for the kind of experience they want to have.”

Routehappy has created a comprehensive system that matches several aspects of the air travel experience important to flyers – aircraft quality, seat comfort, entertainment options, availability of Wi-Fi and in-seat power, on-time performance and flyer ratings with global flight schedules and booking links – to make it easy for travelers to book and research the best quality flights. Albert said “We’re collecting and synthesizing data on the air travel experience from thousands of sources and incorporating them into Routehappy’s proprietary Matching Algorithm and Scoring System in order to create a fair and digestible Happiness Score by flight. We currently cover every non-stop route in the world and have mapped the experience on the entire fleets of more than 120 airlines, with more being added daily.”

“As a leader in fare search technology to the travel industry, we’re honored to be selected by Routehappy, a true innovator in the travel space, in its mission to bring happiness back to air travel – something we can certainly support,” said Scott Gutz, president and CEO of Amadeus North America. “Routehappy is making great use of Amadeus technology, which is particularly relevant for metasearch sites capable of drawing in large volumes of transactions that require reliability, quality and a focus on the user experience.”

Routehappy will make use of Amadeus Meta Pricer and Amadeus Master Pricer solutions in its flight search path to fully develop into a new breed of air travel decision tool, one that values the flyer experience together with price. Amadeus Meta Pricer is a solution for travel metasearch companies that enables them to efficiently and quickly retrieve and return airline fares and availabilities to their users, while also reducing website operation costs. Amadeus Master Pricer is an industry-leading portfolio of comprehensive, powerful low fare search and merchandising solutions for online travel agencies.

With this news, Routehappy is proud to announce a major product launch in its public beta, showcasing increasing capacity of Routehappy’s data resources for flyers and the industry, including:

  • Happiness Scores: Routehappy's unique algorithm ranks aircraft quality, seat comfort, entertainment options, availability of Wi-Fi and in-seat power and ratings from real flyers with an intuitive 1 to 10 rating system that is color coded and expressive of real flyer sentiment to make finding the best quality flight for any route just take a few seconds.
  • Amenities Filters: Flyers can narrow down flights by the feature(s) they care about most to personalize and optimize their own air travel experience.
  • Flight Comparison: Travelers can narrow down flights to the ones that appeal to them most with a handy and easy to use side-by-side comparison feature.
  • Details: Full information about the flight experience is available in a dedicated details window.
  • Booking Links: Links to airlines and booking sites make it easy for users to shop after they’ve found the ‘Happiest’ flights.

“All flights are not created equal. In Routehappy, flyers and the industry now have a tool to help them take back the skies and incorporate the flyer experience into purchase and marketing decisions,” said Albert. “In partnership with flyers and leading data providers in the industry like Amadeus, we’re paving the way to an air travel marketplace based on differentiation, benefiting everyone.”
