LAKEWOOD, Colo.--()--FirstBank, the Lakewood-based holding company for the largest locally owned banking organization in Colorado, announced today that Nicole Reeves, Senior Vice President, has been named one of ColoradoBiz Magazine’s Most Influential Young Professionals in the state.
“I am honored and extremely humbled to be named an influential professional and stand among some of the most creative and determined business professionals and entrepreneurs in the state”
Nicole was selected by the judges from a record 261 nominations for her dedication to mentoring young professionals, her commitment to the local community including serving on the board of seven nonprofit organizations and her significant impact on the company through product innovation.
The judges were impressed that Nicole developed a loan program to help finance real estate through self-directed retirement plans. The program proved to be such a success it was offered at all FirstBank locations and generated more than $30 million in loan originations.
“Nicole is an incredible example for women and young professionals everywhere,” said Pat Brady, Northern Colorado Market President for FirstBank and Nicole’s direct supervisor. “In addition to her professional accomplishments, she is a strong supporter of her family and peers and still finds time to volunteer with several nonprofits, serving most of them at the board level. It’s no wonder she was selected as one of the most influential young professionals in Colorado.”
This recognition comes as FirstBank’s Northern Colorado market continues its steady growth. Since the economic collapse in 2008, which rendered most banks unstable, FirstBank’s Northern Colorado market has seen a 72 percent increase in assets from $328.6 million to$564.5 million thanks, in part, to Nicole’s efforts.
“I am honored and extremely humbled to be named an influential professional and stand among some of the most creative and determined business professionals and entrepreneurs in the state,” said Nicole. “My only hope is I continue to make an impact with young professionals, my community and FirstBank well into the future.”
Nicole began her career with FirstBank in 1999 in the company’s management training program. She climbed the ranks from a junior officer and now holds the title of senior vice president and area manager of three branch locations in Greeley and Fort Collins.
Top 25 Most Influential Young Professionals are chosen from a selection committee consisting of the magazine’s editorial board, representatives from Denver’s Young Professionals group and Regis College. Winners must be under the age of 40 and demonstrate professional achievement, impact in the community and drive of overcoming insurmountable obstacles.
The Top 25 Professionals were recognized at a ceremony Thursday, September 27, 2012, at Mile High Station in Denver.
