Only Television Service Provider Added to Prestigious FTSE4Good Index

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--For the first time, DIRECTV was recognized by the FTSE Group (FTSE), the leading global index provider and pioneer in responsible investment, and added to its prestigious FTSE4Good Index Series. The independent FTSE4Good Policy Committee meets on a semi-annual basis and identifies businesses that meet globally recognized corporate responsibility standards. DIRECTV is the only television service provider to be added to this index at this review.

The September FTSE4Good semi-annual review generated 21 new additions to the FTSE4Good Index Series from six countries, with DIRECTV being one of the new companies entering the index.

In addition, for the first time, DIRECTV participated in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), an international, not-for-profit organization providing the only global system for companies and cities to measure, disclose, manage and share vital environmental information. With a score of 91 out of 100, DIRECTV had the highest score of all 2012 first time respondents and one of the highest scores ever by a first time respondent.
