Orabrush Takes Aim at Freshening Dog Breath with Orapup

PROVO, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Orabrush, Inc. today announced its latest product, the Orapup, a novel tongue cleaner to help cure dogs’ bad breath, is available for preorder. The company recently launched a campaign on the crowdfunding site Indiegogo in an effort to bring the category-creating Orapup to market more quickly.

Designed by Orabrush Founder and Chairman Robert “Dr. Bob” Wagstaff, the Orapup combines ultra-soft pointed bristles with four in-line scrapers, which collect and remove bacteria from the dog’s tongue. A formula made with all FDA-approved ingredients and developed to help prevent gum disease and reduce tartar is applied to the surface of the Orapup to entice dogs to lick the brush, allowing them to clean their own tongues. The Orabrush team spent seven months researching and developing this healthy, edible product with a flavor and consistency that dogs enjoy. Studies have shown that in humans 90 percent of bad breath comes from bacteria on the tongue.

The Orapup is the company’s first foray into crowdfunding, which enables individuals to pledge money to support the development of the product. In return for a minimum $15 contribution, backers can preorder a limited edition Orapup and receive other Orabrush products as perks. Orapup, which will be manufactured in the United States, is scheduled to hit store shelves beginning in Q1 2013.
