PORTLAND, Ore.--()--ESCO Corporation announced today that it has acquired Advanced Cutting Systems (ACS) in a strategic purchase that increases ESCO’s underground mining product offerings.

Based in Windber, Pennsylvania, ACS designs and manufactures high-quality cutting drums used in underground mining. The drums are custom-engineered to meet specific cutting conditions. ACS drums are designed for all models and brands of road milling machines, continuous miners and longwall shearers. The company’s products are known for increased production results, smoother cutting action, long drum life and low maintenance costs.

ACS and its approximately 40 employees have joined ESCO’s Engineered Products Group. Doing business as ESCO Windber, the site will continue to manufacture products for North America under the ESCO brand and will be a supply and service location for the underground mining industry.
