Cheeriodicals - a Gift Company Based out of Birmingham Spreads Cheer in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cheeriodicals and Wells Fargo have brought cheer in the form of 400 big green boxes to the children of New Orleans during its “Cheeriodicals Day at Children’s Hospital” event held on September 13, 2012. Cheeriodicals are “big green boxes of cheer” made up, in this case, of age-appropriate magazines and activity books, room decorations, puzzles, stickers, games and more goodies for the children to enjoy.

“We are so excited to have Cheeriodicals and Wells Fargo visit Children’s today”

“We are so excited to have Cheeriodicals and Wells Fargo visit Children’s today,” said Staci Arceneaux, Assistant Director of Development, at Children’s. “We sincerely appreciate Wells Fargo sponsoring this day of smiles. All of our patients were thrilled to receive such special and fun gifts.”

Cheeriodicals is an emerging company based in Birmingham, Ala. which presents an alternative in the on-line gifting industry. The concept, magazines and edibles delivered in a large green keepsake box tailored to the tastes of the recipient, is catching on as people look for alternatives to sending flowers, fruit or candy. The Cheeriodical is meant to bring cheer and entertainment to men, women, and children with their specialty magazines and carefully selected snacks in individual portions.

“We’re thrilled to work with Wells Fargo on this amazing day at Children’s Hospital New Orleans,” said Gary Parisher, President of Cheeriodicals. “We love Wells Fargo’s idea to enlist the help of their 400 employees at their New Orleans meeting to help us build the Cheeriodicals for the children. This is such a unique way for this large team to come together to raise the smile meter for 400 children!”

Cheeriodicals and a team from Wells Fargo began delivering its bright green boxes at 9:00 a.m. on a room by room basis. The boxes were tailored to boys or girls and specific age groups and are sure to bring joy to the children.

“We chose to work with Cheeriodicals because we like their concept and believe it is a perfect way to brighten the mood of the children and their families,” said Phil Smith, Head of Government and Institutional Banking Group for Wells Fargo. “Each year, our employees participate in a team-building exercise that makes a difference in the community. This year, we are proud to work with Cheeriodicals to bring a day of joy to children struggling with medical issues.”

Cheeriodicals Day is catching on across the country. Cheeriodicals recently worked with Children’s Alabama, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta on their Cheeriodicals Days and has plans to continue working with corporate sponsors to continue to bring cheer to children’s hospitals throughout the country.
