“Automation Becomes Easy” at IMTS in the KUKA Robotics Corporation booth N-6200

September 10-15 KUKA Robotics debuts the KR AGILUS small robot family to the North American market and showcases 5 live in-booth robotic automation demonstrations

IMTS 2012

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Visit KUKA Robotics in booth N6200 during the International Machine Tooling Show to see how “Automation Becomes Easy” with several new product introductions and demonstrations on how automation can bring efficiency to the manufacturing process.

The North American debut of the KR AGILUS small robot series is one of many debuts for KUKA Robotics Corporation at IMTS. The KR AGILUS is unique in its payload category; setting new standards with 6 axes, very high speeds, short cycle times, integrated energy supply system – whether installed on the floor, ceiling or wall, KR AGILUS masters unusual tasks! Other In-booth robotic innovation debuts will include; the new KR QUANTEC KR 270 R2900 Ultra K, and a live milling demonstration featuring the new KUKA.CNC software package now available on KR C4.

KUKA Robotics In-booth Demonstration at IMTS 2012 will include:

NEW! OKUMA CNC Lathe Tending cell demonstration with the New KUKA QUANTEC KR 270 R2900 K Ultra robot mounted over top of an OKUMA LB 2000 EX CNC lathe, showing the space saving strategies that allow higher density operations and improved operator accessibility.

NEW! KUKA KR 210 R2700 QUANTEC robot performing robotic machining milling operations
This cell demonstrates the ability to use a 6 axis robot in a machining application. The KUKA.CNC control option enables KUKA robots to be programmed and operated directly through machine language G code and can process even the most complex programs from CAD/CAM systems.

NEW! KUKA KR AGILUS KR 6 R900 Sixx Small Robots
This demonstration introduces the New KUKA KR AGILUS robots to show its mounting versatility (Floor, Wall, and Ceiling) and will operate with the new KR C4 Compact Controller.

NEW! KR AGILUS KR 6 R900 Sixx demonstrating CNC lathe tending application.
This cell demonstrates the speed and agility this small robot was designed for by minimizing the cycle time while tending a CNC machine tool incorporating vision inspection and post machining part debur.

KUKA Robots in demonstrations on the IMTS show floor are:

NEW! mxAutomation demonstrated in the Siemens booth E-5010
Siemens will demonstrate its recent collaboration with KUKA Robotics. In the Siemens booth E-5010, a KUKA KR 60-3 will be articulating parts, simulating the operation on a CNC machine tool. Key to this development is the machine builder’s ability to integrate mxAutomation from KUKA directly through the Siemens Sinumerik CNC platform, thereby allowing the operator of the machine to run both the machine tool and robot from the single control panel.

Official KUKA Robotics System Partner Genesis Systems displays the RazorJet in the Flow booth N-6127
A revolutionary combination of innovative technologies, the RazorJet is the ideal tool for accurately trimming small, 3D composite parts with unmatched flexibility. A highly accurate KUKA KR 210 R2700 prime QUANTEC put in motion with Genesis automation provides remarkable path accuracy, while the Flow waterjet seamlessly cuts your composite material without heat, fiber pull-out or delamination. Experience more efficient cutting and overall time and cost savings with the RazorJet Robotic Waterjet Cutting Cell.
