LONDON--()--Marmalade - the cross-platform tool that enables mobile app developers to create without compromise – today announces the release of SDK (Software Development Kit) version 6.1 which will enable mobile developers to take their games and apps to the desktop, reaching new markets and maximising revenue opportunities.
“It’s fantastic to see Marmalade offering support for Windows”
The ability to target Windows and Mac OS X, in addition to the wide range of platform support already offered by Marmalade, means a developer can now create games and apps with a single codebase and easily retarget different platforms, taking their games and apps to millions of new people, through desktop stores.
As developers invest heavily in producing ever more powerful and creative content for mobile, Smart TV and desktop platforms, they need tools that enable them to deliver to these platforms without compromising on performance or functionality using native and web technologies. Marmalade allows developers to realise the additional revenue potential of multiple platforms with the minimum of effort.
“It’s fantastic to see Marmalade offering support for Windows,” said John Richards, Senior Director, Windows Partners and Developers at Microsoft Corp. “This gives developers a flexible set of tools to deliver games for Windows. We’re looking forward to seeing great content coming to Windows through Marmalade.”
Harvey Elliott, Managing Director, Marmalade: “Marmalade SDK 6.1 opens up a new world in terms of reach and revenue potential for game and app developers. Porting existing content over to Windows and Mac OS X now couldn’t be simpler. We’re looking forward to the Marmalade community taking advantage of this new feature and further realising the potential of the great content they're creating”.
