CPK introduces a new selection of healthy, globally-inspired cuisine

LOS ANGELES--()--California Pizza Kitchen (CPK), the authority on California-style pizza who first captured pizza lovers’ hearts with the Original BBQ Chicken Pizza, is at it again. CPK’s innovators are taking guests on a culinary journey with their selection of New Adventures; five globally-inspired new additions to the menu with an emphasis on big flavor and lower calorie counts, debuting nationwide August 27.

The New Adventures will complement CPK’s beloved staples, delighting diners with their vibrant ingredients from around the world. “Our New Adventures menu offers what our discerning guests are looking for: a dish that’s full of bold flavors yet nutritious and light.” says Brian Sullivan, Senior Vice President of Culinary Development at California Pizza Kitchen.

The new dishes include:

Quinoa + Arugula Salad (cal. 610)

A super-grain salad with arugula, asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes, red onion, toasted pine nuts and Feta tossed in housemade Champagne vinaigrette

Fire-Roasted Chile Relleno (cal. 380)

Spicy poblano stuffed with chicken, cheese, corn & black bean salsa, wild mushrooms, spinach, and eggplant topped with housemade avocado salsa verde and cilantro

Shrimp Scampi Zucchini Fettuccine (cal. 550)

Shrimp sautéed with lemon, garlic, and white wine tossed with zucchini ribbons, fettuccine, parsley, and Parmesan

Grilled Chicken Chimichurri (cal. 550)

Marinated grilled chicken breast with pan-roasted vegetables and our housemade Argentinean chimichurri sauce

Cedar Plank Salmon (cal. 640)

Salmon roasted on a cedar plank with smoked paprika and lime served with white corn and spinach succotash, topped with feta

The Quinoa + Arugula Salad features the increasingly popular quinoa, which is considered a “super-food” due to the seed’s high protein content. The Fire-Roasted Chili Relleno, a typically deep-fried Mexican dish, is lightened up with a fire-roasted cooking technique that adds a rich smoky flavor. The Shrimp Scampi Zucchini Fettuccine offers a low-carb option by replacing eighty percent of the traditional fettuccine noodles with zucchini ribbons. The Grilled Chicken Chimichurri highlights a traditional Argentinean condiment with mildly spicy notes. The Cedar Plank Salmon, served with a side of fresh white corn and spinach succotash, features omega-rich salmon, roasted on a cedar plank to infuse the filet with a dynamic, smoky flavor without using butter or oil.
