Colorado Technical University’s Human Resource MBA Program Aligns with SHRM Curriculum Standards

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.--()--Colorado Technical University (CTU), a leading provider of education for motivated students, announced that the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has acknowledged that its Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program with a concentration in Human Resource Management fully aligns with SHRM’s HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates.

CTU’s MBA degree program with a concentration in Human Resource Management gives students the opportunity to learn core business skills with practical HR principles. The program’s instructors – many of whom are familiar with the federal regulations that govern human resources and labor relations – teach students how to integrate human resource functions into an organization’s strategic plan.

“Our ability to meet SHRM’s education standards reflects what’s behind CTU’s Professional Learning Model,” said Emad Rahim, CTU College of Business dean. “Through it, we are committed to delivering real-world content that meets quality standards of competency in terms of academics, personal effectiveness and workplace skills for students, including those seeking to further their careers in the HR field.”

Throughout the world, 287 programs in 222 educational institutions have been acknowledged by SHRM as being in alignment with its suggested guides and templates. The HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates were developed by SHRM to define the minimum HR content areas that should be studied by HR students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The guidelines, created in 2006 and revalidated in 2010, are part of SHRM’s Academic Initiative to define HR education standards taught in university business schools and help universities develop degree programs that follow these standards.
