SAN JOSE, Calif.--()--Cupertino Electric, Inc. (www.cei.com), a national engineering and construction services company, today announced that it has expanded its data center operations with a new office in Prineville, Oregon and the addition of project executive and industry veteran Michael Coleman. With more than five million square feet of data center floor design experience and national recognition for data center construction innovation, CEI’s business has steadily grown in the last year, despite the economic downturn.

“While we have long engineered and constructed data centers in the Pacific Northwest for industry-leading clients, our new office enables us to extend our offerings for current and future data center customers who rely on us to meet their complex electrical needs,” said John Boncher, Cupertino Electric’s president and chief executive officer. “Oregon’s business climate, weather and abundant natural resources make Prineville a great location for our fifth United States-based office. We look forward to establishing an even greater connection with the local Prineville community.”

New Customers Driving Expansion

The growth of Cupertino Electric and its established data center division is due in large part to the addition of new customers with complicated project needs throughout the United States. Most recently, Cupertino Electric completed a three-month, fast-track, data center spanning 110,000 square-feet in San Antonio, Texas, for global colocation solutions provider CyrusOne.

“The demand for high-availability colocation space continues to surge among the Fortune 1000 enterprises we serve,” said Kevin Timmons, chief technology officer, CyrusOne. “Speedy commissioning of our sites is essential for us to meet the just in time inventory demands and expectations of the C-suite decision-makers and IT management at these companies. Cupertino Electric met our aggressive timelines and accommodated our complicated specs at our San Antonio facility without sacrificing on quality.”

CyrusOne offers best-in-class performance and reliability for high-density and high-availability enterprise requirements for colocation solutions. The facilities’ data center power and redundant cooling architectures use advanced components and are designed with N+1 and 2N parallel redundancies, providing 100 percent uptime with service uninterrupted. The company has customers in 23 colocation facilities across the United States, London, and Singapore.
