SAN ANTONIO--(Global data center services provider, CyrusOne, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cincinnati Bell (NYSE: CBB), announced today that Park Place International signed on as the first customer at its San Antonio location.)--
“And from a disaster-recovery perspective, we offer a solution that protects people and IT equipment, providing our customers military-grade security, reliable power, and connectivity in the raised-floor areas where we house equipment, as well as our critical infrastructure office suites.”
“As healthcare systems evolve into a fully documented electronic medical record, data access and security is mission critical,” said Mark Middleton, director of cloud services, Park Place International. “Reliable IT services start with a facility located in an area at low risk for natural disasters that is hardened and secured, with highly available electrical, cooling, and monitoring—with controls for fire prevention, detection, and physical security. CyrusOne was selected for its ability to meet all these needs for Park Place and our customers.”
A one-of-a-kind facility, CyrusOne’s San Antonio data center location is situated on 10 acres of land and offers more than 20 megawatts of power. CyrusOne’s Sky for the Cloud™ peering and interconnection platform enables cloud performance through dedicated data halls that meet the redundant power, connectivity, and capacity needs of the data-rich service model.
“We intentionally design our facilities with the highest level of power redundancy and density to host mission-critical systems and high-density storage environments, such as the cloud,” said Josh Snowhorn, vice president and general manager of Interconnection, CyrusOne. “And from a disaster-recovery perspective, we offer a solution that protects people and IT equipment, providing our customers military-grade security, reliable power, and connectivity in the raised-floor areas where we house equipment, as well as our critical infrastructure office suites.”
In addition to being the most advanced data center in the San Antonio area, the facility also offers customers Class A office space, which enables employees to be located in the same facility as their infrastructure.
Park Place International features infrastructure-as-a-service solutions designed specifically for hospitals and healthcare providers using the MEDITECH healthcare information system. Cloud service offerings include OpSus|Live, fully managed MEDITECH hosting services, and OpSus|Recover, disaster recovery services for MEDITECH and enterprise applications. CyrusOne announced in December it would deliver the first enterprise data center in San Antonio. The addition of the San Antonio facility to CyrusOne’s Texas footprint completes the company’s expansion plan for the state, with facilities now available in the four major commercial markets of Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. CyrusOne is expected to launch the United States’ first statewide Internet exchange later this year in Texas, which connects these four markets as part of CyrusOne’s Sky for the Cloud™ peering and Interconnection enablement platform.
