BDO Consulting Expands Litigation and Fraud Investigation Practice

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BDO Consulting, one of the nation’s leading professional service organizations, today announced the growth of its Litigation & Fraud Investigation practice with the addition of Daniel Ventricelli as a Managing Director in the New York office. In this role, Mr. Ventricelli, a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Insolvency & Restructuring Advisor and an attorney, will lead a range of consulting matters, including forensic accounting, investigations and disputes involving complex economic and financial issues. His appointment is effective immediately.

Mr. Ventricelli has extensive experience conducting complex accounting and financial investigations, including matters involving allegations of fraud, financial reporting irregularities, management misconduct, embezzlement, kickbacks and violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Providing testimony at deposition and trial, Mr. Ventricelli has testified to issues pertaining to accounting irregularities, asset misappropriation schemes, fraudulent conveyances, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties and economic damages. He is also experienced in providing consulting services in matters involving GAAP / GAAS issues.

In one of the largest bank failures during the 2008 financial crisis, Mr. Ventricelli assisted counsel for the Chapter 7 Trustee of the holding company of a failed savings and loan. Having significant bankruptcy and restructuring experience, Mr. Ventricelli has served as court-appointed examiner, forensic accountant and financial advisor to trustees, debtors, lenders and committees. He is experienced in investigating the assets, liabilities and pre-petition conduct of debtors, in addition to reconstructing incomplete accounting and financial records and advising clients on potential recovery causes of action, including preferences, fraudulent conveyances and solvency determinations, auditor liability and substantive consolidation.

Mr. Ventricelli earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Juris Doctor from St. John’s University. He now serves as an Adjunct Professor at St. John’s University School of Law teaching a bankruptcy forensic accounting course for their LL.M. in bankruptcy program.
