SUNNYVALE, Calif.--()--Dobango, Inc. (http://www.dobango.com) likes to put a twist on existing ideas to create their own unique platforms for social gaming, and now for social marketing. The startup, launched in 2011, has a Zynga-meets-Groupon business model that allows users to play games to win prizes from local businesses.
“For Pinterest users, it is natural to pin the things they love, and now they will have a chance to win $1000 for it”
According to TechCrunch and ComScore, the rapidly growing Pinterest surpassed 10 Million monthly active users in early 2012. To use Pinterest’s existing social media platform for leverage, Dobango is now launching a full-blown social marketing campaign with their 4th of July contest, which offers a grand prize of $1,000.
“For Pinterest users, it is natural to pin the things they love, and now they will have a chance to win $1000 for it,” said Dev Gandhi, CEO and co-founder of Dobango. “As a social gaming company we are focused on bringing innovative services that engage users on social media with brands,” he added.
Dobango pinned its first promotional image for the contest last Friday -- the company’s Pinterest following jumped by over 5,000 followers over the weekend.
The company is the first to understand and work with Pinterest’s platform to automatically upload contest entries to their pinboard, where contestants can view their submissions and vote on their favorite entries.
The innovative integration provides the capacity to handle large numbers of contest entries.
The integration also allows Dobango to automatically pull large amounts of data from Pinterest to track contest progress and notify winners of daily prizes.
Though the social gaming company is young, it is emerging as a leader in app development and social interaction. The bar is now raised a notch higher for future large-scale Pinterest contests.
