In just five months, OO.com has generated $900,000 for classroom projects—which will shortly surpass $1 million; over 125,000 students impacted in 3,573 cities nationwide

NEW YORK--()--OO.com was released in beta one year ago as Next Jump’s consumer facing marketplace. OO.com stands for One=One. For every dollar spent, one WOWPoint™ is donated to educate a child in need. OO.com combines the best deals and offers on more than 30,000 of the top brands and retailers such as Lands End and Toys’R’Us with the ability to earn WOWPoints™ rewards on each purchase – Save & Give.

To celebrate Father’s Day, OO.com is partnering with Best Buy to offer a one day deal that will help OO.com to surpass $1,000,000 donated to help fund public school projects nationwide. For today only, a $10 for $20 credit for Best Buy merchandise will be made available to OO.com customers. Available online with in-store pick up option. Not only will you be receiving a $10 for $20 credit at Best Buy, but with all purchases made on OO.com, one WOWPoint™ per dollar spent will be donated to help educate children in high-poverty schools across the country in partnership with DonorsChoose.org.

According to Charles Best, Founder & CEO of DonorsChoose.org, “Doing good, specifically for public school classrooms, defines the shopping experience of OO.com. Just take a look at their home page, and you’ll see why the Founder & CEO, Charlie Kim, passionately believes that charitable giving should drive customer acquisition.”

Charlie Kim, Founder & CEO of Next Jump, believes that charitable giving is the new form of marketing. He defines this as “social commerce.” Kim says, “OO.com is a vehicle for good. We have the ability to use the power of business to dramatically impact the world in a positive way. Whether you buy your toothbrush through OO.com, your dining room table, your next vacation, or new clothes for the season, you can feel a sense of pride knowing that your purchase has just helped educate a child in need. We make GIVING BACK easy.”

OO.com began its partnership with DonorsChoose.org in December of 2011. Thus far, OO.com has generated $900,000 for classroom projects nationwide. Over 127,000 students have been impacted, in 472 schools, with 1,238 projects funded to date in just five months. OO.com uses the DonorsChoose.org API to let consumers pick the classroom projects that their shopping will support. Charles Best notes that “while companies ranging from Starbucks to Yahoo to Sonic Drive-In Burger have used the DonorsChoose.org API to integrate micro-philanthropy into their products, we’ve never seen anything like OO.com before.”
