PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Got Faith team won the fourth annual Wii Bowling Championship hosted by SCAN Health Plan Arizona, a nonprofit Medicare Advantage plan, held at the SCAN Connections Resource Center in Phoenix. Got Faith, a four-person team from the Senior Opportunities West Senior Center, competed in a very spirited and close game against the Lucky Strikes from the Deer Valley Senior Center.
Four teams from the two city of Phoenix senior centers chucked weightless bowling balls down the alley using Nintendo Wii remotes. The rules of the tournament were the same as regular bowling.
“Our annual Wii Bowling Championship allows seniors of all abilities to enjoy some good-natured competition at a sport that may not be as comfortable for them as it once was,” said Elizabeth Russell, CEO of SCAN Health Plan Arizona. “SCAN Health Plan Arizona appreciates the opportunity to partner with the city of Phoenix to bring this fun and beneficial event to local seniors.”
“We look forward to participating in SCAN’s Wii Bowling Championship each year,” said participant Mary “Cookie” Garcia. “It’s a fun way to get a little exercise. Winning is just a bonus.”
More than 35 attendees cheered for the competitors. Once again, Danny Davis from KOY-1230AM served as the event emcee.
