STAPLES, Minn.--()--The National Joint Powers Alliance® (NJPA) today announced it awarded a contract to CDW Government LLC (CDW-G), through which NJPA members from public K-12 schools, public libraries, and Head Start programs can purchase eRate-eligible technology, including professional services for delivery and installation, directly from CDW-G.
“Through this contract, NJPA members will benefit from CDW-G’s experience and success with the eRate process, its key manufacturer relationships, and its ability to provide quality telecommunications services, internal connections and Internet connectivity at a competitive price.”
The contract will help NJPA members streamline the process of applying for and using funds under the national eRate program, which provides funding for telecommunications services, Internet access, and internal connections, including the acquisition and installation of equipment to provide internal connections.
“This fiscal year, the Federal government made $2.25 billion available through the eRate program. These funds can help schools and libraries make significant IT infrastructure improvements, but applying for and securing eRate funds is traditionally a multi-step and time-intensive process,” said Julie Smith, vice president of K-12 education for CDW-G. “Now, because NJPA is providing the bid and award on behalf of its eRate-eligible membership, members can save significant time and resources that they would otherwise devote to the bidding and award process, from writing and reviewing bids to finalizing contracts.”
CDW-G, an approved eRate vendor, responded to NJPA’s competitive invitation to bid #022712, which followed the proper eRate bidding guidelines set forth by Universal Service Administrative Company. The NJPA bid evaluation committee awarded its first national eRate contract to CDW-G based on the company’s market leadership, including its ability to deliver quality IT solutions, excellent customer service, and competitive pricing.
“CDW-G is a leading provider of technology solutions, partnering with schools and libraries to provide eRate eligible products and services since the program’s inception,” said Mike Hajek, NJPA’s director of contracts & marketing. “Through this contract, NJPA members will benefit from CDW-G’s experience and success with the eRate process, its key manufacturer relationships, and its ability to provide quality telecommunications services, internal connections and Internet connectivity at a competitive price.”
NJPA Board of Directors approved this contract award to CDW-G.
