MINNEAPOLIS--()--Capella University (http://www.capella.edu), an accredited online university* that has built its reputation by providing high quality online degree programs for working adults, has announced a partnership with Mission Critical TV to offer free continuing professional education (CPE) credits to the public safety and emergency management community by viewing a 90-minute video on emergency management and completing a short quiz.
“It provides current and meaningful information to better serve the public and supports educating those in public service who understand the importance of collaboration and multidisciplinary leadership.”
Mission Critical TV is a series of 60-90 minute training programs hosted by Capella University’s Public Safety Faculty Chair John J. Sullivan Jr., PhD. Each program delivers educational content as well as a detailed discussion of security threats and solutions from the industry’s leading authorities.
“Partnering with Mission Critical TV is the perfect medium of combining the professional education environment with the academic environment,” Sullivan said. “It provides current and meaningful information to better serve the public and supports educating those in public service who understand the importance of collaboration and multidisciplinary leadership.”
The program also contains interviews from experts representing the Department of Homeland Security, emergency operation centers, law enforcement, fusion centers, and private sector technology providers. The information presented is specifically developed for emergency managers, first responders and anyone responsible for disaster planning, mitigation and response.
“Capella University is a great academic partner for Mission Critical TV. The educational content is centered around current information with relevance to the real-world environments these men and women work in everyday. Capella University’s faculty are leaders in the field with experience in organizations such as the FBI, New York Police Department, Federal Bureau of Prisons, and U.S. Customs.” said David Holden, executive producer for Mission Critical TV. “Mission Critical’s content will now be available to first responders anytime and accessible from just about anywhere through Capella University’s online platform.”
