NEW YORK--()--Today, GoGo squeeZ, the first squeezable, re-sealable, all-natural applesauce snack in the U.S., is proud to launch a new digital children’s book entitled, “When I Play” to inspire kids to be active both online and offline. The book is narrated by Drew Brees, professional football quarterback from New Orleans, and was made possible through a partnership with Speakaboos – a subscription service featuring interactive, digital picture books that inspire a love of reading and literacy in children.
“‘When I Play’ provides an opportunity for both kids and adults alike to create their own adventures online”
“It feels great to work with GoGo squeeZ on this new book that will inspire children, like my own boys, to embrace both playtime and literacy in a fun way,” says Drew Brees. GoGo squeeZ is thrilled Brees lent his voice to the project as he is a father who shares the brand’s passion for simple, active fun.
Available on Speakaboos’ interactive website at http://bit.ly/Speakaboos, “When I Play” allows children to engage in their own story about how they like to play, while bringing the GoGo squeeZ world and fruit characters to life through colorful illustrations that will help kids have fun while encouraging a love of reading. “When I Play” was written by Michelle Sinclair Colman, author of the 10-book “Urban Babies Wear Black” series, who is always on the search for ways to have fun with her kids.
“GoGo squeeZ is thrilled to work with Drew Brees, Michelle Sinclair Colman and Speakaboos on this new project that brings our shared mission of encouraging simple, active play to life,” says Meena Mansharamani, Managing Director for Materne North America. “‘When I Play’ provides an opportunity for both kids and adults alike to create their own adventures online,” adds Mansharamani.
The “When I Play” digital book is also traveling its way across the country as a part of GoGo squeeZ’s “Pass the Play” mobile playground this summer. The “Pass the Play” tour is benefitting another like-minded play-thusiast – the non-profit agency The Fresh Air Fund, which provides free summer experiences and year-round educational programs to New York City children from low-income communities. For every #passtheplay tweet @gogosqueez, $1 will be donated to The Fresh Air Fund with the goal of raising $25,000, which will allow more inner-city boys and girls to participate in programs that can change the course of a child’s life.
