“The carriers we have assembled collectively represent the most powerful forces in today’s world: our communication channels. We have entered the period of convergence between highly robust data networks and ubiquitous device usage, resulting in a highly connected citizenry,” says Smedley. One example may be the need to address the simplicity of the customer experience. AT&T’s Lurie told Connected World magazine that as you start to look down the road as more and more things become connected and enter people’s lives, if the industry does not consider that experience upfront then it will have a very difficult experience in getting high adoption rates.
Michael Palmer of Verizon has cited the explosion of cloud computing capabilities as one of the main drivers for innovation across a wide range of fields from healthcare to retail. What’s next? This blue-chip panel may provide a sneak peek at what we can expect to see over the next 24 months. The Connected World Conference attracts attendees from around the world for a three-day immersion into the future of connected devices and the companies that are powering them. Products from such companies as Apple, Nike, Samsung, Kodak, BodyMedia, Fitbit, Wilson Electronics, Nest, Bushnell, ContourGPS, will be on display, along with new innovative cars from Chrysler, Audi, Chevy, Porsche, and Cadillac.
