NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa.--()--Balfour Beatty Communities LLC, a subsidiary of Balfour Beatty Capital Group, Inc. and one of the leading Public-Private Partnership (PPP or P3) providers of housing, lifestyle and community solutions for members of the U.S. military and their families, recently announced the completion of 310 new homes and the renovation of 577 existing homes on schedule and on budget for its Fort Gordon housing project with the United States Department of the Army. The construction and renovation costs on this project totaled approximately $92M and close to 65% of that cost went back into the community through the purchase of local building supplies and the engagement of local subcontractors.

The construction and renovation of military housing at Fort Gordon completes a six-year initial development period that launched in 2006. The new construction, completed eight months ahead of schedule, brings the total number of homes managed and maintained by Balfour Beatty Communities at Fort Gordon to 1,080 units.
In addition to the new and renovated housing, Balfour Beatty Communities also constructed a 4,200 square foot community center featuring LifeWorks activity rooms, a fitness center, Internet café, and Community Corner. Other amenities developed and built for the project include playgrounds, bus stops and two Soldiers Homes to house residents displaced by work being performed in their homes, as well as warrior transition soldiers temporarily located at the installation.
