MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MOM Brands announced today that 85 of its cereals qualify for the Whole Grain Stamp from the Whole Grains Council. The addition of this stamp to relevant MOM Brands cereal packages, website content, and other marketing communications further showcases the company’s commitment to providing consumers with better breakfast options.
MOM Brands cereals that qualify will bear one of two stamps from the Council. Fifty-eight cereals have earned the 100% Whole Grains Stamp, which signifies that all the grains in the cereal are whole grains and that the cereal contains at least 16 grams of whole grains per labeled serving. Varieties bearing this stamp include: Malt-O-Meal® Frosted Mini Spooners®, Blueberry Mini Spooners®, and Strawberry Cream Mini Spooners®, as well as several Mom’s Best® Naturals, Bear River Valley®, Sally’s® Cereal, and Isabel’s Way® varieties, and all Better Oats® instant oatmeal and I Love Oats™ instant oatmeal varieties. Additionally, 27 cereals have earned the Basic Whole Grain Stamp, which indicates that those cereals have at least 8 grams of whole grain ingredients per labeled serving. MOM Brands will begin rolling out new packaging featuring the stamps over the next several months. Website content will be updated to include the certifications by June 1.
“MOM Brands has long appreciated the work of the Whole Grains Council in furthering nutrition education, and we’re proud to offer so many cereal items that qualify for the Whole Grains Stamp,” said Linda Fisher, MOM Brands director of marketing communications. “Consumers are looking for convenient and affordable ways to eat well, and by putting the stamp on our packaging we hope to make it easier for them to identify our whole grain offerings.”
