CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Chicago-based TIP Solutions, Inc. has been named one of three winners in the International CTIA WIRELESS® 2012 BIG idea contest for its HOLD-ONTM and GOT-CALLTM Smart Call tools, which allow mobile phone users to instantly, and more politely, manage their incoming calls.

TIP Solution’s Smart Call features now available for smart phones, are designed to solve the problem of not being able to instantly answer an important call. The company believes its Smart Call will be deployed to manage about 50 percent of its users’ mobile phone calls.
Selecting the HOLD-ONTM option for an incoming call gives the user the ability to briefly delay pickup of a call. While the caller is waiting, he or she will hear a polite custom message signaling the temporarily hold. After the message, music is played until the user is able to pick up the call.
Selecting the GOT-CALLTM option for an incoming call lets the user send a customized or generic audio message to the caller acknowledging receipt of the call. The message alerts the caller that the recipient can’t immediately take the call, but will be happy to return the call later. Once deployed, the message is automatically followed up with a visual "promise reminder" appearing on the user’s display screen. By using the GOT-CALLTM feature, the user is able to instantly communicate that he or she is busy while simultaneously scheduling the call for later.
The International CTIA WIRELESS® BIG Idea Contest recognizes the mobile industry’s newest and most innovative concepts dedicated to improving the way we live, work, and play. More than 500 mobile professionals voted to select this year’s BIG Idea winners from among five finalists.
