HUDSON, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading global provider of information for healthcare professionals and students, announced today that Lexicomp® has been selected by the University Health Network (UHN) as the drug information resource for its four hospitals located in Toronto, Canada.
An inter-professional panel (made up of nurses, IT professionals, pharmacists, physicians and additional personnel) from across the UHN was involved in making the decision to switch from its previous drug information provider to Lexicomp® Online™, an internet-based resource, and Lexicomp® On-Hand™, a mobile application for access to Lexicomp drug information and clinical content. According to a hospital spokesperson, the panel considered a number of factors and features and relied upon feedback from its employees before reaching a decision. Some of those factors and features included: multi-language patient education materials; core medication information content and quality; usability and ease-of-use; capacity of mobile applications; desirable intravenous medication compatibility; drug interaction searching capabilities; integration within the MOE/MAR systems; and overall cost.
“Lexicomp is pleased to be selected by the University Health Network as their drug information provider,” commented David Del Toro, Vice President and General Manager, Clinical Drug Information at Wolters Kluwer Health. “It is an honor that Lexicomp has been chosen to provide vital, point-of-care drug and clinical information to the pharmacists, physicians and nurses of the UHN, helping to improve patient care and enhance patient outcomes.”
