WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Actifio™, the Protection and Availability (PAS) storage company, today announced the appointment of Michael Troiano – a highly respected advertising executive and technology entrepreneur – to Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Troiano, most recently a principal of Holland-Mark, a leading independent Boston-based advertising and strategic marketing firm, is a respected technology entrepreneur who successfully led firms including Ogilvy & Mather Interactive, Primix Solutions, matchmine and the Interactive division of venture-funded startup m-Qube. As CMO of Actifio, Troiano will oversee global marketing including product marketing, customer programs, digital and social marketing, public relations, events, advertising and sales promotion.
Troiano’s appointment coincides with accelerating domestic and international user adoption of Actifio’s PAS platform, which has enabled the firm to double revenues for seven consecutive quarters and expand in key regions across Europe, Asia/Pacific and the Middle East. Today, Actifio’s PAS platform is used by hundreds of customers and sold by more than 100 value added resellers worldwide.

Before that, he served as general manager of m-Qube, a mobile marketing pioneer that was sold to VeriSign in one of the largest Boston venture capital exits of 2006.

He co-founded New York-based strategic Internet services firm Brandscape in 1996 and merged it with Primix, a leading systems integrated where he became president.
A respected industry thought leader on the topics of branding, entrepreneurship and social marketing, Troiano is ranked among the top one percent of the most influential on Twitter. He serves as a TechStars mentor and as an advisor to Boston start-ups including BostonInno, Blank Label, Quant5, Weather Mob, CoachUp and Kibits.
