PracticeMax Announces Acquisition of KLO Professional Billing, Inc.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--()--PracticeMax, a provider of revenue cycle management and software services, today announced it has acquired KLO Professional Billing of Westmont, Illinois, expanding the operations and geographical footprint of PracticeMax in the Midwest. Under the direction of Karen Olson, president and founder, KLO provides billing and practice management services to physician practices and groups of all sizes throughout the Great Lakes region.

“The acquisition of KLO is another important step in PracticeMax’s growth strategy and demonstrates our commitment to establish centers of excellence throughout the United States,” says Bill Carns, CMPE, CHBME, chief executive officer at PracticeMax. “Not only is the Midwest an important market for us, but we’re very excited to welcome Karen Olson and her team into the PracticeMax family.”

Carns described the acquisition as a significant benefit for the company’s combined customer base: “At PracticeMax, we recognize that providers need access to experienced, trusted advisors who can offer a broad selection of services and technology. A ‘one size fits all’ approach to EHR and PM system selection simply won’t work for most healthcare practices. Since the company’s inception, we have been committed to recommending customized solutions for our customers. The synergy created with KLO enhances our ability to offer these solutions to an even broader base of providers.”

“After 25 years of perfecting our reputation of service and integrity, I am delighted to join with my colleagues at PracticeMax as we strive to overcome the many challenges facing healthcare providers today,” says Olson. “The KLO customer base will now have access to a greater breadth of services and technology than previously available, allowing the physicians we serve to keep pace with the demands of this rapidly-evolving healthcare environment.”

Carns adds that Olson, who is a member of American Health Information Management Association, the Society for Human Resource Management and the Healthcare Billing and Management Association (where she currently serves on the Board of Directors), “will bring extensive healthcare services and leadership expertise to our management team. We feel very fortunate to have her join PracticeMax.”
