YONKERS, N.Y.--()--The Local Media Group of Cablevision Systems Corporation (NYSE: CVC) today announced the launch of Newsday for Westchester, a regional website and iPad® and iPhone® applications designed specifically for residents of Westchester County, Rockland County and the Hudson Valley. Available starting today, Newsday for Westchester will deliver in-depth news coverage from reporters in the region as well as videos and other news materials from its content partners, which include Newsday, News 12 Westchester, News 12 Hudson Valley and MSG Varsity, making Newsday for Westchester the premiere local news resource in the region. By leveraging the strengths of these well-known news resources in the market, Newsday for Westchester brings together the best in local news to deliver a valuable product for consumers in the region.

Optimum Online customers will have access to the Newsday for Westchester digital products at no charge as an added benefit of their Cablevision service. Others can subscribe to the Digital Subscription package, which includes complete access to the regional website and apps for $1.15 per week following a one-month free trial. Users can visit Newsday.com/Westchester to access the website. The iPad and iPhone applications will be available for download from the iTunes App Store beginning today.

Sports fans will be able to follow their favorite teams with all of the latest scores and schedules. The website and mobile applications are fully searchable with simple navigation features, customization options and social media functionality. They also offer an interactive multimedia experience through video and photo galleries. In addition, users of Newsday for Westchester’s mobile apps will be able to access live, video streaming of the television feeds of the MSG Varsity channel and all of the News 12 channels.
