PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Chemtura Corporation (NYSE: CHMT) announces the expansion of its European Regional Technical Development Center located at the company’s Latina Scalo, Italy, polyurethane prepolymer production facility.
Chemtura Urethanes’ Adiprene® / Vibrathane® European Regional Technical Development Center is currently being expanded in order to house new processing machinery, which will complement the existing Technical Center equipment and facilities, including its existing meter/mix machine that was installed in 2009. The new equipment will include an industrial scale Unipre three-component meter/mix machine with a fully synchronized rotary casting system, which will enable Chemtura to further develop its range of Adiprene® Ribbon Flow® prepolymer systems used for the rotational casting of industrial rolls that are primarily utilized in the paper, steel, and printing markets. The expansion of the laboratory and installation of the processing equipment is expected to be completed by mid-year.
“The installation of rotational casting equipment in our regional technical development center will enable Chemtura Urethanes to further grow and expand our Adiprene® Ribbon Flow® systems and tailor their properties more specifically to our customer needs,” said Stephen Lewis, EMEA Business Director, Chemtura Urethanes.
“Demand for higher-performance, longer-life rolls in our customers end markets is driving our development efforts,” added Gerry King, EMEA Technical Manager, Chemtura Urethanes.
Chemtura’s Adiprene® Ribbon Flow® systems are used in a multitude of industrial applications and markets where high wear resistance, toughness and durability are essential requirements.
