Image Entertainment Nabs FREAK DANCE Featuring Amy Poehler and Tim Meadows

CHATSWORTH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Image Entertainment, Inc. (OTCQB: DISK) announced today the addition of FREAK DANCE to its 2012 schedule. The company has picked up North American rights including home entertainment, digital and broadcast, to the new comedy produced by the famed Upright Citizens Brigade. The announcement was made today by Bill Bromiley, Image Entertainment’s Chief Acquisitions Officer.

In FREAK DANCE, a group of ambitious dancers strive to master the notorious “Freak Dance” in order to win an underground competition and save their community center from demolition. It tells the story of Cocolonia, a spoiled rich girl who just wants to dance, so she sets out to join the ranks of some local street dancers. Little does she know that this will ultimately involve her in an epic battle of good and evil between two warring dance troupes. This no-holds-barred satire stars Michael Daniel Cassady (Killers, “The Office”) and Megan Heyn (“2 Broke Girls”) and features Amy Poehler (“Saturday Night Live,” “Parks and Recreation”), Matt Besser (Bad Teacher) and Tim Meadows (“Saturday Night Live,” Mean Girls). The film was written by Matt Besser and co-directed by Besser and Neil Mahoney.
