FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--()--PCTEL, Inc. (NASDAQ: PCTI), a leader in antenna and scanning receiver solutions, announced today its new GPS L1/L2 ruggedized antenna designed for reliable performance in high-precision, heavy-duty GNSS tracking applications. The new antenna offers excellent GPS L1 and GPS L2 satellite reception and performance in a low profile mechanical package.
“This GPS L1/L2 antenna is a perfect example of our advanced engineering and production capabilities”
This state-of-the-art design features a Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) gain of 33dB and high out-of-band rejection allowing greater isolation from adjacent RF interference. The GPS-L1L2-28MAG is lightweight at less than six ounces yet boasts a greater than twenty pound magnetic pull force. This makes it the ideal multi-band GNSS antenna platform for military/defense applications including vehicle tracking, UAV’s, soldier-worn communication gear, and commercial applications like precision agriculture and mining.
In addition to its product exhibit, PCTEL Secure LLC, which is PCTEL’s joint venture focused on mobile device security, will be presenting its security solution, based on ProsettaCore™ to various end-user groups. ProsettaCore™, a solution for thwarting various threats to cell phone security, targets security breaches and use policies of Android-based devices in an innovative way that makes it equally effective against known and unknown threats. Security breaches are a growing concern in war theaters, government agencies, and certain commercial markets. ProsettaCore™ allows for multiple mission and theater-specific policies on phones, tactical radios, and tablets, allowing a single device to adapt to the current security requirements without specialized hardware or re-engineering. PCTEL Secure will be available at the booth for technical and high-level briefings.
“Our Defense, agriculture and mining customers continue to demand reliable and ruggedized precision antenna solutions that operate in RF interference prone environments,” said Jeff Miller, Senior Vice President of PCTEL Sales and Marketing. “This GPS L1/L2 antenna is a perfect example of our advanced engineering and production capabilities,” added Miller.
The GPS-L1L2-28MAG meets MIL461 standards for Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), as well as DO-160 environmental standards for airborne equipment. The antenna is resistant to harsh chemical compounds and will survive high-vibration conditions in military environments and heavy-duty commercial installations.
PCTEL will demonstrate its new Multiband GPS L1/L2 Antenna along with its portfolio of antenna products and its ProsettaCore™ Security Solution at the AUSA Winter Symposium, February 22-24, 2012. Please visit PCTEL booth #1934. PCTEL’s GPS-L1L2-28MAG antenna is currently available for sale. Further details can be obtained from our website at www.antenna.com.
